What is the typical lifespan of a shipping container used for storage?

With proper maintenance, a steel shipping container can last 20 years or more in container storage shipping, especially when used for static storage rather than constant sea travel. Regular repainting, checking door seals and repairing minor damage promptly will extend the life of the unit.
