What is a flat-rack shipping container?

A flat-rack container has no sides or roof and consists only of a reinforced steel floor and end walls, allowing very large, heavy, or oddly-shaped cargo to be loaded from all directions. They are available in 20ft and 40ft sizes and are used for project cargo such as industrial equipment, vehicles, and large machinery.
